MassCEC Goes Rock and Roll with O.A.R.
O.A.R. Bassist Benj Gershman (second from left) meets with MassCEC staffers Jess Ridlen, Emily Izzo and Arthur Natella.
Workforce Development Program Coordinator Arthur Natella, Thermal Programs Fellow Emily Izzo and I had the opportunity this weekend to attend O.A.R.’s concert and spread the MassCEC's message to eager concert-goers.
Before their concert at the Bank of America Pavillion, the band invited us to set up a table as part of the Green Dream, a one-stop shop for O.A.R. concert attendees created in 2008 with the goal of promoting environmental awareness off-setting carbon emissions from the band's tour.
Dozens of fans stopped by our booth to learn more about MassCEC and some of our programs, like Solarize Mass and the Massachusetts Clean Energy Internship Program.
We were lucky enough to be seated next to Mass Energy, a non-profit organization that focuses on making energy more affordable and environmentally sustainable. One of Mass Energy team's members was an intern participating in our program!
In one of the highlights of the night, Benj Gershman, O.A.R. bassist, stopped by our booth before the show to thank us for coming and for all the work MassCEC is doing to help spread the adoption of renewable energy in the Bay State.
It was a beautiful night to sit back, learn about clean energy and hear some great music.
