Job Duties/Responsibilities: 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinating various aspects of project engineering and permitting, including working with internal design teams and external civil, structural and electrical design consultants
  • Provide technical due diligence for development projects including: design review, site assessment, EPC/O&M contract review, and construction monitoring
  • Visit development project sites and conduct thorough physical inspections to ensure deployed solar assets are of the highest quality, create punch lists for NCIs
  • Manage tasks assigned to engineering team
  • Review engineering reports and deliverables
  • Develop engineering best practices for the company
  • Install, inspect, maintain and repair solar power plant components, including the solar PV panels, combiner boxes, inverters, transformers and switchgears
  • Monitor asset status and troubleshoot and resolve problems that may arise
  • Conduct inspection, preventative and corrective maintenance for operational sites
  • Supervision O&M activities and plant operations and verify the maintenance activities
  • Manage subcontractors, electricians and technicians
  • Develop methods to troubleshoot equipment and performance, reviewing construction documents, ensuring compliance with codes/standards
  • Manage the budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of solar assets, driving long term profitability and risk minimization
  • Develop, implement and manage long term maintenance strategies for assets in the portfolio; obtain and manage maintenance contracts
Qualifications: 

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering (Preferably Mechanical or Electrical Engineer)
  • 2-5 years experience in design, engineering, construction and/or O&M experience in solar PV power plants, wind, and or fuel cell
  • This position requires competence in the field and in the office, speaking with subcontractors, utilities, suppliers and field technicians
  • Familiarity with monitoring platforms (Also Energy preferred)
  • 3+ years experience in the solar PV, wind, or fuel cell industry
  • 3+ years experience in solar PV construction and/or O&M services
  • Computer proficiency with; AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in PVSyst preferred
  • 40% + travel may be required
  • Valid driver license required
