Exciting Extension of the Solarize Mass Program

MassCEC and the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources announced earlier this week a one-month extension of the current round of the Solarize Mass program underway in 10 communities across the Commonwealth.

Six out of the 10 communities – Chelmsford & Carlisle, Lee, Medway, Northampton, and Williamstown – have reached the top savings tier.

With two weeks to go, the Solarize Mass communities have ramped up their efforts to get contracts signed before the September 30th deadline. Our events calendar has been filled with open houses and workshops throughout the communities throughout the summer. The turnout has been great, and interest is still high in all communities.

This Saturday, Sept 28, Solarize Lee coach Roger Scheurer will be hosting an open house from 10 AM to 12 PM to showcase his newly installed solar system. Residents will be able to preview their possible system, and the event could convince those on the fence to sign a contract before the deadline two days later.

In a recent article in The Berkshire Eagle, Scheurer states his motivations perfectly: "The simplicity of it is impressive," he said. "If you have a roof with a lot of sun, just do it." Hopefully his open house will be the push Lee residents need.

With just a few more weeks to go, we’re excited to see more residents and businesses take advantage of this program.
