Topping the clean energy news this week was:
- More than two dozen of the nation’s biggest corporations, including five major oil companies, are planning their future growth with the expectation that the government will force them to pay a price for carbon pollution as a way to control global warming.
- SolarCity is pairing with Tesla Motors to use Tesla batteries as a backup method to store energy generated from solar panels. SolarCity is piloting this program to a few utility companies, including Northeast Utilities, for large commercial customers who have installed solar technologies.
- Lexington-based FirstFuel Software, a company which offers a remote energy auditing program, raised an $8.5 million Series B round.
- SunPower Corp. is testing power-storage systems in three countries, including the U.S., to compliment its residential systems.
