Celebrating Patriots' Day with Solarize Lexington and Bedford
Patriots' Day may not carry the same significance around the country, but in Massachusetts, and especially the historic town of Lexington, it's an important time to recognize the events that helped shape our country's future.
Last Monday, Lexington celebrated the holiday with enthusiasm including a downtown parade, battle reenactments, the Liberty Ride and even a road race.
Solarize Lexington and Bedford representatives participated in the parade, smiling as they walked through Lexington Center holding up signs with the slogan, "Go Green, Save Green" to promote the program.
The hard work of these volunteers in Lexington and Bedford is paying off; the two communities lead all participating cities with 31 signed contracts for a capacity of 200 kilowatts of solar electricty.
The Solarize program has been built from the ground up by dedicated volunteers who pound the pavement getting the word out about the economic and environmental benefits of solar electricity. We're excited to see those efforts continuing and look forward to another successful round of the program.
