Mass Solar Connect increases the adoption of small-scale solar electricity systems for members of participating Massachusetts-based non-profit groups through an outreach and education campaign coupled with competitive pricing.

Building on the success of the Solarize Mass program, the pilot round of the Mass Solar Connect program launched in late 2014, and a second round of the program was completed in 2017. The program partners with non-profit groups to increase education and outreach about solar electricity, while also reducing the cost of installing solar for non-profit group members.
In 2015, MassCEC partnered with Mass Energy Consumers Alliance (Mass Energy), wrapping up the program in late 2015 with 261 signed contracts and 1.9 megawatts of contracted solar capacity. As part of the 2017 Mass Solar Connect program, MassCEC partnered with Mass Energy, Self Reliance and the Marion Institute, as well as the online installer bidding platforms EnergySage and Pick My Solar. Through the program, 62 residents signed contracts for solar electricity, resulting in over half a megawatt of contracted capacity.
