As the clean energy sector continues to grow in Massachusetts, MassCEC is committed to running programs that connect the state’s clean energy companies with the workers they need to keep and expand their operations in the Commonwealth.

MassCEC offers opportunities for college students and recent graduates to work at paid internships at existing companies, funds programs that provide on-the-job training for low- and moderate-income workers looking to improve their financial standing and supports programs that help teach students the skills they need to succeed in the jobs of today and tomorrow.

Massachusetts Clean Energy Internship Program – MassCEC's Massachusetts Clean Energy Internship Program connects students and recent graduates with Massachusetts clean energy companies seeking to employ interns. MassCEC provides stipends for interns during fall, spring and summer sessions.

Massachusetts Clean Energy Careers Training and Education Directory – Connects energy efficiency and renewable energy industry professionals, job seekers and students with education and training opportunities throughout the state.

Pilot Diversity Program Offers Unique Opportunities for Interns of Color

One of MassCEC’s extraordinarily successful flagship programs is the Clean Energy Internship Program, which facilitates the placement of Massachusetts 4-year and 2-year college and certification program students into paid internships at clean energy companies. The program has placed upwards of 4,500 interns into internships since its inception in 2011. While staff have long sought to increase diversity in the program – for example, by encouraging interns and employers from Gateway Cities to participate -- increasing diversity in the program was a targeted priority for Summer 2021.

Set yourself up for success in 2020. At the end of this workshop, you will have a career action plan to get to where you want to be by the end of the year and by 2025. You will create (or update) your career goals and come out with specific next steps you need to take to achieve these. We will also discuss resources available to help you reach your goals and how to leverage them.

The Careers in Sustainability Series began in 2017 by the USGBC MA Chapter’s Emerging Professionals of MA Committee, during the ramp up to GreenBuild in Boston. The goal of the series is to bring together professionals of various stages of their careers in sustainability and help provide guidance and insight to students planning on entering a sustainability-related industry. The series is structured as a panel discussion that is taken to a new college every year to broaden the impact across Massachusetts colleges.
