Join YPE and volunteer with the Esplanade Association on Boston’s Charles River Esplanade on Saturday, October 6th from 9am to 12pm. Specific tasks of the volunteer event will be determined in September, but could include painting benches, greening, picking up the pathways, raking leaves, among other activities to ensure that we keep the Esplanade beautiful.

This EBC program is the first in an annual EBC program series of five meetings with the leadership teams of the four regional offices and the headquarters of the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP). These programs provide EBC members, municipal officials, and other attendees from throughout Massachusetts the opportunity to hear first from Commissioner Suuberg of the DEP and then from the leadership of each of the four DEP regional offices and the headquarters team. This first meeting will feature the leadership of the Central Region and focus on the important issues and priorities of Central Massachusetts.

Following the speaker presentations will be a panel discussion moderated by Bob Cox of Bowditch & Dewey, LLP.

One of the major challenges to realizing offshore wind in the U.S. is the development of offshore transmission and interconnection to onshore substations. The availability and development of offshore wind’s associated transmission is a primary concern for investors and developers.
