Following MassCEC’s investment in 2012, 7AC Technologies, a manufacturer of high-efficiency HVAC systems for commercial buildings, closed a strategic partnership with 3M New Ventures, and won the Outstanding Venture Award at the 2012 National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) Industry Growth Forum. Systems using 7AC’s technology can drastically cut heating and cooling energy costs and radically improve de-humidification performance. To date, the company has raised more than $17 million in follow-on financing. Most recently, the company closed a $5 million Series C in 2015, led by Saudi Arabia Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), and a $6 million Series D in 2016, led by Emerson.
